Little Lake Sunapee

We enjoyed this long weekend away at Little Lake Sunapee in New Hampshire! (or centipede as mom called it until she saw the spelling). It was a 2 hour drive from our home. Our friends Mary and John live right on the lake. What a great spot!

There were lots of adventures to be had.
There were wild blueberries for the picking - one of Julia's favorite fruits. Of course, now all things that look round and berry-like on plants can be picked to eat (aka - an unopened flower bud off a nearby mum. D'oh!). It was a short walk to a little private beach where there were lots of toys for Julia to play with. And, there was even a hammock by the lake where one could take great naps!
There were also canoe rides to be had. However, Julia wasn't so fond of the life jacket and threw a fit for what seemed like eternity until mom took off the life jacket. Then she calmed down enough to enjoy the ride - until she fell asleep.

We also got to see a bog and walk around. There were some wild cranberries growing, but this one was more like a park. You could go and pull up these long sticks covered in mud to see how deep the bog was. You don't want to put your full weight on the ground (off the wood path) or else you'd fall in!
What a great adventure this weekend! We can't wait to go back. Maybe during ski season on the local mountains?
