take me out to the ballgame!

What a way to cap off the summer. Yesterday, I went to my first (of many I hope!) Red Sox games. It was quite the day full of firsts.

My first ride on the subway into downtown Boston. It sure was a crowded train! But, someone was nice to give me some space by a window to stand so I could look out at all the scenery whirling by.

My first venture onto Yawkey Way - a street full of game day people all walking around and enjoying the excitement. I saw a 15 foot man (on stilts!) playing catch with people. He even threw the ball to me and when I threw it back, he dropped it. Maybe he needs some practice catching.
My first Fenway park visit! Wow, there sure were a lot of people. I had my own seat. And saw my new friend Wally. I watched some people swing their bats. "Is he out?", I would ask. I have a new favorite expression - Three strikes and YOOOOOUUUUUUUrrrrreeeeeeee OUT!!!
My first singalong. Take me out to the ballgame, take me out with the crowd...... and Sweet Caroline ....(8th inning anthem)

My first ice cream in a plastic B helmet. That may have been the best part!
Or, maybe my own take-home Wally is the best part.
