birthdays, bunnies, and veggies

Sunday was a big day! First, it was daddy's birthday. Second, it was Easter. Third, it was day one of veggies for Ella and Kate. Whew!

Happy birthday daddy! The girls had a photo shoot with Caitlin (our nanny) so we could have something nice to frame for a present. Here are some of the results.
Our annual egg hunt was extra special this year! First of all, the Easter bunny actually hid eggs inside our house for a change. Wonder if he's finally figured out how to get in - like Santa. Julia woke up and saw the eggs in her room first. She came and tiptoed to daddy's side (yay!) of the bed. "Pssst...daddy!!! The Easter bunny came! I see eggs! Want to see?" (Note, this is around 6 am.) Daddy acknowledges her comments and then tries to go back to sleep. 3 min later..."Daddy! I found MORE eggs...." and so it continued until daddy got up. So much for sleeping in. Julia - "I like Easter better than Christmas!" Hmm, really? Better not let Santa know! Ella and Kate got to enjoy some of the festivities - at least by watching the egg hunt and strategizing for next year.

Since it was Easter, what perfect timing to try veggies for the first time. In honor of bunnies, we started with our first carrots! And big sister Julia did the honors of feeding. Who needs dolls when you have baby sisters to feed?

Ella tries it first. Her facial expressions are priceless!

Then Kate. She likes it!
