the first of the year

Happy New Year! May it be a year of many firsts.

We ended off 2012 with some pesky bugs that slightly complicated our celebratory plans. Nonetheless, Dec was packed full of lots of adventures and fun. A few worthy updates...

We had a few encounters with Santa. He was very nice and friendly. Kate was curious. Ella preferred to stay her distance. Well, maybe next year, we'll all warm up to the jolly ol' guy.
 


Julia went to her very first real ballet! Guess what CD has been playing ever since...

 We have a resident elf. She has been lots of fun to watch.

And it's official - our girls are upwardly mobile. Ella is finally taking some real steps here - in mid-Dec (~14.5 months). And, yes, that other child zooming around in the background is Kate, who found her freedom at the end of October and hasn't looked back since. Good thing this playground area is fenced!
