spring has sprung

Actually, it felt more like summer. Yesterday, it was in the 80s...err about 27C for those up north. So, after 5 days of being couped up, I convinced Jack to let me out and drive me to the park where he could go for a run (like the gazillion of other folks coming out of hibernation in the city) and I could just lay down on a blanket and feel like part of the outside world again. Ahh, fresh air. It was a short jaunt outside, but so worth it. Of course, because it was so nice out, the local tv news station was there filiming all the people enjoying the weather. Wouldn't it be so ironic to get busted on tv...by my doctor who put me on bed rest, or my work colleagues who know I am supposed to be home!

The odd thing was the sudden appearance of flowers everywhere - daffodils, magnolias, etc. It's like a whole new world outdoors and I've only been on bed rest for 5 days. Starting to realize that by the time I re-enter the real world, it will be an entirely new season so to speak. Very odd feeling.

Pigglet is doing well. Some contractions here and there but nothing really major. Lots of kicking in the middle of the night and this has led to some insomnia. S/he must be trying to train me for the inevitable...

Too funny! We were just reading your blog when we rec'd your comment on our blog! What a wired world we live in.

So glad to hear that things are going well, that you are home from the hospital, and sneaking out to enjoy springtime. And, while we can't wait to meet our new playmate, we are especially glad that Pigglet has decided to stay inside his cozy home for a little longer.

Take care! Devin & Caitlyn (and Daddy & Mommy)

Hey Catharine and Jack...

I hadn't checked your blog for a while, and, obviously, I didn't know that all of this was happening! It sounds as if Jack is taking good care of you, and that you are handling the bed rest well. Please take care.

By the way, love the photos of the apartment! Now I have somewhere to picture you, way over there on the east coast.
