kick off to the summer

Our first Memorial Weekend as a family - and we kicked off the summer by getting away from the heat in the city (90s F or 30s C) and going to the beach on Sat! Jersey Shore is about 1.5 hours away from Philadelphia (in good traffic). So, we packed everyone up and headed down for the afternoon and evening. Had some blue crabs outdoors at our favorite restaurant on the water (Crab House) and then walked along the boardwalk in the evening where it was insanely crowded with families doing the same thing. Talk about a sea of strollers. Only thing you had to make sure to do was "watch the tram car please" and get out of its way cruising up and down the boardwalk carrying passengers.

This was our practice introduction to the beach. The real thing will come later this summer when we hit the Cape in July!!! Will Julia be a fish like her Dad?? Might be too early to find that out this year.
