We were somewhat skittish to go check out the fair given our somewhat challenging evening with Julia the day before. We had headed out with her in the sling, which had been a great way for us to get about town without the bulkiness of a stroller. But, we soon realized on this evening that each time we tried to sit down for a bite to eat, Julia would wake up and start wailing. After several attempts and a very unhappy child, we eventually made our way home without success. Would it have made a difference had we brought the stroller instead? (Note - everything with Julia these days comes down to asking what if ?? questions)
Well, the next day we weren't taking any chances. It turns out her car seat is one of the few things that she will definitely fall asleep in. Thank goodness. We enjoyed a nice stroll around the art festival and were even able to enjoy a nice Thai dinner outside while she slept. Whew! What in the world are we going to do when she outgrows this car seat??? Guess that's when you say goodbye to fancy restaurants..or hello to a good babysitter?
