to daddy with love

Yesterday, daddy was treated to a special daddy's day from me and mommy. First, he got to sleep in! Although, that was after he got up to feed me at 5 am. (I was hungry!) But then I slept until almost 9 am (when mommy got up to feed me) so that he could rest some more since it was his special day.

In honor of his special day (his first one!), mommy and I decided to treat him to a yummy brunch. Well, ok..it was a special treat for us gals too since we love to eat. But, we went to have brunch on a BIG boat, which we knew he would like since he likes boats.

Here's a photo of the boat:
Some info on the big boat:
Since the launching of the Moshulu (pronounced Mo-shoe'-loo) in 1904, she has had a long and exciting career on the seas working the ports of Europe, South America, Australia, America and Africa. She was confiscated by the Americans in one war and by the Germans in the next. She has traveled around Cape Horn 54 times. She has hauled coal and coke, copper ore and nitrate, lumber and grain. In lesser days, she has served as a floating warehouse. In grander days, she won the last great grain race in 1939. Today, the Moshulu is the largest four-masted sailing ship in the world still afloat.

Here's the view from our table. Note that I got to have prime window seating!
I even let daddy eat his entire meal before I asked him to feed me.
Afterwards, we went for a walk along the river. It's the Delaware River that separates Pennsylvania from New Jersey. Here's a cool bridge (Benjamin Franklin Bridge) to connect the two:
Then we went to another river (Schuylkill - pronounced skoo-cull) on the other side of town to hang out in the park. We got to lay on a blanket and just enjoy a nice sunny day under the trees in the shade. I got to feel grass under my feet for the first time too. It feels funny.
Here I am tugging on daddy's shirt so that he'd play with me!
All in all, we had a great day out! Happy father's day too to grampy Hulburd and wai gong Wang!
