slinging along
We have discovered an alternate form of transportation for Julia! The sling was an impromptu purchase - but since Julia is still too small for the traditional baby carrier, we thought we'd try something else that we could use when the stroller is just inconvenient. It worked great, can be adjusted to fit mom and dad, and holds Julia in a way that probably mimics her days back in the womb.
Went for a nice long walk around Philly and saw some sights that may be familiar to folks.
Logan Circle - with probably the most beautiful fountain in Center City, with City Hall in the background.
Rocky statue by the Art Museum, which was only placed in this location earlier this year after much debate about whether it belonged by the museum at all. (It was previously located by the sports stadiums, and then in storage for awhile). The Rocky statue raised quite the controversy about whether the "movie prop" was considered "art". In the end, the vote was narrowly won to have Rocky located by the museum, but at the bottom of the stairs off to the side.
As a side, there are many people who run up the Art Museum steps each day pretending to be Rocky. And yes, they start boxing when they reach the top and jump around.
